Student Poster Competition - Results"Nano in My Life" DVD resource pack was launched at CRANN's Advanced Microscopy Laboratories in Trinity College on Thursday 17th November. It is an excellent resource for introducing students to cutting edge science and ideal as a Transition Year module. ISTA have teamed up with CRANN and we are running a poster competition called "What next for Nano?" The finalists will have their work displayed in The Science Gallery and the winners will be announced on Saturday 21st April at our 50th Annual Conference held in Trinity College.
Science Educator of the Year 2012The PharmaChemical Ireland Science Educator of the Year 2012 was awarded to Ms Mary Mullaghy by Dr Oliver Ryan.

Teacher Awards CompetitionCongratulations to Crana College, Buncrana, Co. Donegal, who were awarded the first place prize of €1,200 for their Science department in the 2012 ISTA PharmaChemical Ireland Teacher Awards.
Congrats also to the Science departments in Donabate Community College and St. Columba's College, Whitechurch, who were runners up in the event and received €600 each. Thanks also to Ms Aoibhinn Ní Shuilleabháin who did an excellent job at chairing the presentations by each team entitled ‘Enhancing the uptake of science subjects’ and the judges, who included an external Fulbright Fellow Prof William McComas from the University of Arkansas.
